Sarina Homes' Avenue 33 development is speeding along in the Marda Loop, where a number of boutique residential projects are adding to the vibrancy of the area. Boasting a design by James Andalis and Michael Farrar at FAAS Architecture, the five-storey project departs from the usual glass-heavy tropes of modern design and implements natural materials, including cedar accents laid against a bright white backdrop.

Units range in size from one-bedroom floor plans to sizeable two-storey loft-style homes that come with 400-square-foot outdoor terraces offering mesmerizing mountain and city views. Each of the 36 units will also feature quartz countertops, stainless steel appliances, and air conditioning. According to the official website, all units on the fourth level have been sold, with only one-bedroom layouts still available on the floors below.

The southeast corner of 33rd Avenue and 19th Street SW has been a hub of activity since construction on the project began. Crews have been swift in their work so far, advancing to the second floor slab as wood framing outlines the profile of the building. When the project marks completion, it will contain commercial space on the ground floor to ensure the frontage is activated with neighbourhood-friendly retail.
