Today we check up on the construction and development in Calgary's Marda Loop area. Marda Loop, named after the end point of the old Marda streetcar line, is not an actual neighbourhood in Calgary, but rather a commercial corridor in between two neighbourhoods: Altadore and South Calgary.

In the last few years Marda Loop has seen a fair bit of new construction, and is still experiencing ongoing development with a few projects just finishing up while others are getting started, not to mention projects in the works that haven't broken ground yet.

The Odeon, designed by Mckinley Burkart and being developed by Ronmor, is almost complete. It will feature Blush Lane, an organic grocer, taking up all of the main floor once finished.

Also recently completed was Garrison Corner, another Ronmor development that has added six new retail bays to Marda Loop.

Adding to the mix are a couple new mixed-use developments that have just started construction and will bring more retail and residential units to Marda Loop.

SNR Group's Infinity project recently broke ground and will add 38 residential units and 11,000 square feet of retail.

Also under construction is Avenue 33 by Sarina Homes. Designed by FAAS architecture, this development will bring 40 new residential units to the area, as well as 6,000 square feet of retail.

Another project still in the works is the ML33 development. A date has not yet been set for ground breaking, but the development would bring another 135 units to the area.
