It's been a month since the erection of the Beltline's latest tower crane at 16 Avenue SW and 8 Street SW, indicating that construction is ramping up for Embassy Bosa's The Royal. The initial worry on our Forum about the relatively slow pace of construction seems to have been tempered, as new photos from the site reveal substantial progress.
The images reveal a newly fashioned maze of concrete wall slabs and floors forming the underground parking levels. Following the below-grade portion, the project's vigorous commercial podium will take shape, which will contain an Urban Fare and Canadian Tire developed by First Capital Realty.
The 34-storey tower will cater to a range of lifestyles with its 223 units, which include a small assemblage of studio suites in the base. One-bedroom condos of about 600 square feet will start in the mid-$300,000s while two-bedroom layouts up to 1,000 square feet are selling for approximately $550,000. The upper eight floors will service a clientele looking for larger living spaces, with an abundant offering of three-bedroom orientations.
Interiors are characterized by a column-free design and virtually floor-to-ceiling windows. Wide-plank laminate hardwood floors stretch across the kitchen and living spaces, while the master bathroom is treated with heated floors and a Grohe rainfall shower. The kitchens — implementing either a "Pure" or "Modern" colour scheme — feature stainless steel Bosch appliances and quartz countertops. With a fully equipped fitness centre, elevated outdoor garden, professional kitchen, and expansive owners' lounge, residents can fill their free time with plenty of on-site activities. Embassy Bosa is hoping to complete the project in 2018, adding to their portfolio of previous successes like Evolution.
