Urban Development and Proposals Discussion

I would love to see a better, more efficient use of land for the Hillhurst school/community centre sites (perhaps consolidate onto one large parcel, with a shared multi storey building and outdoor spaces) and the same with Riley Park Health Centre/Agape Hospice (combine functions in a campus style plot of land).
Community Centre spaces usually don't get too much action unless the city wants to build something bigger.

The Riley Park Health Centre land was sold earlier this year. I imagine they'd want to build something at scale there, but probably more complicated with there being existing tenants on the site and lease/relocation that would have to happen.

Same developer as the Library Square site near the Central Library. https://calgary.skyrisecities.com/forum/threads/calgary-library-square-21m-6s-bankside-lola.41208/

That historicist facade is from the 2000s. The
original form was a boring brick box of no value
The form has been modified but the building has very significant heritage value, arguably the most significant building in the city when it comes to union and labour activity, as well as the location of the founding of the CCF party.

I thought that Riley Park site was going to stay as healthcare lol. What has Bankside developed, can't think if I've heard of them before... Hope this doesn't just sit vacant for a long time...
