    Calgary Transit

100% it’s changing from a suburban commuter train system. I’ve been regular user of the trains for 30 years and I’ve seen it changing, specially over the last 10 years give or take. Station numbers would probably back this up, but my observations are two things in particular. - 30 years ago...

Vancouver and Edmonton should be interesting. Vancouver is 2-7 in playoffs vs Alberta teams historically. Will the trend continue?

Please tell me this isn't oil canning, and that they'll be fixed.

Overall I’m happy with it, especially given the location, and as been said, it’s a reasonable TOD setup. Much better than our other stations that are adorned with park and rides lots. Also it’s 100 X better than our previous suburban developments which were endless SFH’s and cul de sacs.

They spandrel looks much too busy, but at least it is different from the usual spandrel panels.

Looks good for the most part, and is definitely better than the past suburban development, also it's decently near to an LRT station. That said, I get frustrated when I see massive projects like this built on the very outskirts of the city. This is why I'd like to see blanket zoning take place...

It's already been mentioned, but SLC has the demographic for this. If the team is even half decently competitive, they'll get plenty of support.

Don't forget Denver, it's about 8 hours drive. You could do games in both cities as well as some good skiing/boarding.

March numbers are out. A 1.4% increase over last year. It's not much of an increase, but decent for the time of year.

    17th Ave Car Free Discussion

I’m amazed at how much opposition there is to closing down a 4 block stretch of road. You’d think we were trying to decide on whether to leave confederation rather than a simple road closure. A definite symptom of how much our society is chained to cars and roads.

I prefer the new podium. I’m not a fan of podiums with overhangs.

    Water-cooler discussion thread

I tend to agree. IMHO this forum has always been good for letting people speak their mind, and not censoring people too much, which is great except at some point if posts get too far off topic, or become toxic it detracts from the forum. It’s a balancing act, but all one needs to do is look at...

    Censorship discussion.

I’m only going to engage once, but seriously dude, you need to do some research if you think this is actual censorship lol.
